For an online multiplayer FPS, try Urban Terror. Its pretty old but still really fun to play and has a lot of people still playing it. And its free to download.

Fallout 3 is probably the best RPG ever. This is post apocalyptic shooter where you are trying to survive. Another is Fable 2. This was probably the most popular RPG when it came out. 3 is coming out real soon. Dragon Age Origins is a real good game but you are killing dragons using sorcery and its a lot like World of Warcraft. Mass effect 2 is also awesome. I would definitely tell you to get that game. Its real star trek like. Dont know if your into that kinda stuff though.

How come RPG games are not multiplayer?
Now admittedly, the first rpg game I ever bought and played was Mass Effect 2 for the Ps3 as a matter of fact I am playing it now and loving it, but it has come to my attention that multiplayer for rpgs is unehard of? But why? I think this game would be great for split-screen co-op multiplayer at least, given that most rpgs play like this, how come this genre is always single player?How come RPG games are not multiplayer?

If by that you mean browser based RPG, yes. Runescape has a unique java engine among the browser based RPGs, thought, so don't expect much from the games I'll refer. There's also Bang Howdy! (that I wouldn't call a RPG), that is the only other browser based java engine game I know.
To play games in flash, there are Dragon Fable and Adventure Quest (In both you have to pay to have full access to the game, and notice that Dragon Fable is still under construction and that it's hard for non-members to login into AQ). There are also those community based flash games (that some people consider to be MMORPGs) that are becoming really popular: Gaia Online (that I already played and that is really cool), ClubPenguin, PuzzlePirates, and i think that Habbo goes the same way; in all of this games you create an avatar and play games like fishing to get money and personalize those avatars.
There鈥檚 also the pure browser based ones: Tibia is a fairly popular game, BiteFight and Knightfight are OK. Travian is a strategy MMOG, also pretty good. There鈥檚 also pokemon crater (but it has a lots of publicity) and, my personal favorite, FallenSword (it's interface is much like pokemoncrater, but it's a dungeon crawler. It also doesn鈥檛 have lots of publicity like pokemon crater, and has a guild system that stimulate interaction and stamina restrictions that allow players that don't have much time to remain competitive, not to mention the lottery and the auction system).

I also enjoyed the Legend of Legaia series. What about something like The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind? Fable was really good as well. There is always Kingdom Hearts as a possibility as well. I'd even throw Mega Man Legends in there also (crazy, eh?)

If you dont mind buying the game, Guild Wars is good too.
Others like World of Warcraft, Everquest, Everquest 2 and Dark Age of Camelot are pretty good mmorpgs as well, but you must pay a montly subscription fee to play them.
Several of these actually have trial play on their websites, so if you want to test them out, I'd suggest you download the trial play.

Xenosaga episodes 1-3. They are very good RPG's my cousin is a RPG researcher, and she says that the Xenosaga series is a very good RPG to play. I've played it myself, and I agree. It's one of the best out there. But there's one thing about it. If you want the most out of the game, start with episode 1.

This is something that I too have searched long and hard for, so let me enlighten you with my results.
Perfect world was an alright game, the races had unique traits, and the classes were decent. However things seemed very slow (progressions wise) and the community seemed a bit lacking. Not to mention that learning your way around the areas can be a little frustrating at times.
Shin Megami Tensei (Tensai?) Is a good one. The mechanics are easy to get the hang of, you can use guns or blades, and you can collect and raise demons as companions. The game also has cinematics and a storyline. The only bad thing I noticed is that the characters themselves don't seem to get a lot of skills. It mostly focuses on which demons you choose to capture, and how you raise them.
Runes of Magic is a very interesting game for todays free mmo's. Its pretty traditional in the fact that you can be a ranger melee or magic class. (There are more classes than just the three) Yet it also uses a few techniques most games dont. You can buy your own house, and add more floors, walls, furniture, trophies, etc. Also the guilds in the games get their own expanses of land, and have their own castle. The guilds can then go to war with each other. If you find armor that you think looks really cool, but you find better armor that looks bland, fear not. They have a system that lets you infuse armor with stats from other pieces of armor. You could put the better defense from the bland armor onto the armor you think looks cool.
Bloodymare Requiem I had quite a lot of fun with this one. This game is a bit darker. The graphics are good, and the creatures you fight can be quite grotesque. When you kill an enemy, you will potentially cut an apendage off, and the corpse ragdolls. When you get farther in you collect parts of demons, and can use them to transform (temporarily) into a demon yourself. The only bad thing is that at first some of the gear you find looks really lame.
These are just a few options I recomend, hope you find one you like!
It's not a traditional rpg, but it's a great game and it's free. It's called Cave Story. It's a Metroid-Castlevania type game. Very good, especially since it's free.

I always hear people talking about video games that are role playing or RPG games. I don't really understand what they mean by this. What makes a RPG game a RPG game? What are some of the elements of an RPG game? Can you give some expamples of Wii games that are RPG or have RPG elements?

The terms for game genres are confusing because games fit many genres now, but...
an RPG usually gives you control of multiple characters. These may be controlled as a group (like in Final Fantasy 12: Revanant Wings), one at a time, or at different times in the game. You usually control the main character(s) for the entire game, like in Star Ocean: Till the End of Time. There is also usually a level and experience system, and a journey to save the world/country/etc., though it differs. You usually can collect different weapons, characters, armor, and whatnot, and the characters usually have special abilities/techniques that are always available or available at different times. An RPG is basically a game where you are a specific character and it is your role to play as him/her, you are them for all purposes. Zelda is a perfect example of an RPG. Don't get these confused with games like Red Steel or Mario Galaxy. Those are different because in Red Steel all you do is the fighting parts, you don't necessarily do a lot to advance the plot line, while in Mario Galaxy you are there to just fight bad guys and save the princess while collecting stars.

Problem with Spiral Knights is that you have a little rechargable bar at the bottom. It has 100 points on it, and recharges over the day (You get all 100 points back slowly over the course of 24 hours) and the points are required to do dungeons, which is all the game has that I've seen. It forces limited play UNLESS you're willing to pay a bit. Rest assured, the limitations are actually pretty reasonable in my opinion, and you can have your friends spot you =P

The first move was a Fire move that threw out a massive AoE cylinder of PURE FLAME at people, hitting everybody in it like 5 times in a second. The other move (And my current favorite) is a multi hit move where I actually use my staff like a god (Spinning attacks and such) and smack people with it as opposed to casting a spell =P
The fact that it made level 1 so much fun, let alone level 32 (even though I only got to level 7. Level 32 is the cap I believe) was awesome in itself, and a few friends of mine have been switching to it.

I love these two games and have massive play hours for them. They are very good rpg games and i want to know if bethesda is making anymore RPG games. I notice hey made the game WET and this is not an rpg. Are they done with RPG games? I hope not. And when i was looking up some upcoming games i notice something called Fallout new vegas. Do you think that is a new Fallout or a add-onIs bethesda making anymore RPG games like fallout or oblivion?
First of all, I 1000% agree with you and I love Fallout 3 and all of the TES games as well. But the two games you mentioned WET and Fallout: New Vegas are not being developed by Bethesda.
WET is being developed by another studio and Bethesda is only Publishing the title (looks kinda good though). A demo is currently available for download for WET if you have access to the internet.
Fallout: New Vegas is being developed by Obsidian (which has employees that had originally worked on Fallout 1 %26amp; 2) and is being published by Bethesda. However, Bethesda is allowing Obsidian to build Fallout: New Vegas on the same game engine as Fallout 3 so the core gameplay should be the same. Obsidian is no stranger to making great RPGs, Obsidian developed Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords as well as Neverwinter Nights II.

I only have a Playstation 2 so I can only really recommend games for that system but for Playstation 1 games I would say that Chrono Cross and Legend of Dragoon are good ones and as for Playstation 2 I really enjoyed the storylines of Arc the Lad, Radiata Stories, .hack, Shadow Hearts: Covenant, Dragon Quest VIII, Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, and I'm not entirely sure if it is considered an RPG but Okami also had a good storyline as well. I hope this helps!
It depends what console(s) you have.
For example, I would most certainly recommend the Tales series which (IMHO) is even better than Final Fantasy.
If you have an XBox360 pick up the new Tales of Vespira, if you have Wii check out Tales of Symphonia (for Gamecube) and Tales of Symphonia II: Dawn of the New World (coming out soon for Wii). If you have PS2 you can get Tales of the Abyss and others (idk if PS3 is compatible with PS2 games, lol) if you have DS you can get Tales of Phantasia (brutal difficulty though for a newcomer to the series) and PSP owners can get Tales of Destiny I and II.
Then there's always Kingdom Hearts, another really great series and there's tons of great sequels to old beloved SNES RPGs coming to DS in the coming months!

As the first poster had said, KH series is super great and Fable is nice...I don't know about Fable 2 yet though.
But if you're looking for something in the first generation of Playstation...haha, I had forgotten what RPG I had played then...I say, Legend of Legaia and its succesor in PS2, Legaia Duel Saga is pretty okay.
Or...you could play the mind wobbling, belief shattering, heretical XENOGEARS...it's developer is also Squaresoft...(before merging with Enix so the story and gameplay is purely magnificent) Do not underestimate the anime-like character though...you'll like the fighting sequence inside the Gears.

It got Game Of The Year in '06 (the year it was released) and never got below a 9.1 on any review site.. It's often called The King Of RPG's..

That's the only RPG I can recommend because there are none better.. Not for PS3, the XBox 360 or PC.. Yes, in my opinion, Oblivion is that good..
