Are there any great rpg games (dragon quest or final fantasy or similar games) for download to mobile phones?
I am looking for really good rpg games for download to my mobile phone like dragon quest or final fantasy or rpg's similar to them. I cannot find any real decent rpg's for my phone. Are there any sites that have these games for download to mobile phones? I am a really big dragon quest fan. All I seem to find are cheap imitations or oddball rpg's that are not much fun. I am partial to turn-based rpg's but will take anything so long as it's like dragon quest or final fantasy. I would appreciate any help in steering me in the right direction to find these games. Remember that when you hack it, you can put emulators on it, which let you play anything up to and including PS1 games, and also Game Boy Advance games. You can download PS1 games off of the Playstation store
As far as shooters go, you've got Coded Arms, Coded Arms Contagion, Medal of Honor Heroes 1 and two, and Call of Duty: Roads to Victory. Don't let the crappy reviews fool you, they're all decent games, but there are no great first person shooters on PSP. The closest you'll get is Resistance Retribution, or Syphon Filter. All those are good and similar to first person controls, but play out in third person.
Yes, a PSP is worth it. I highly recommend getting a PSP1000 that's still in good condition and hacking it. It's not hard, and it lets you do some awesome stuff.

There鈥檚 also the pure browser based ones: Tibia is a fairly popular game, BiteFight and Knightfight are OK. Travian is a strategy MMOG, also pretty good. There鈥檚 also pokemon crater (but it has a lots of publicity) and, my personal favorite, FallenSword (it鈥檚 much like pokemoncrater, only that it doesn鈥檛 have lots of publicity, and has a guild system that stimulate interaction, not to mention the lottery and the auction system).

The best RPG that WILL be released is Monster Hunter 3. I think it will be released this year, but I'm not exactly sure when.
Dokapon Kingdom is an RPG that I LOVE! The only problem is that it is mostly an RPG oriented to parties (single-player gets kinda boring) so you may not like it if you have no one to play with.
I'd recommend No More Heroes. It's an adventure game but has certain RPG aspects (you level up, get new equipment, etc). It is pretty alike to Zelda.

I can't play games that require a lot of effort in fighting. I just suck at that. I really liked Neverwinter Nights and the Witcher because you just had to click on the enemy to fight them. I don't recommend playing free to play games out there. I've been playing them for 6 years and most of them are hardcore grinding mobs for hours, and that's pretty much it. If you want to play a decent game, I suggest Warhammer online.

What are atleast 10-20 good RPG games for the xbox 360?
I really like anime graphics, also really like amazing cut scenes like in the Final Fantasy games and I like the main character usually having a bad *** power or hidden power or fightin skillz, the games can contain anyone of these and if all 3 that would b jus perfect!!

Tales of Vesperia : is good and has anime style graphics.
Lost Odyssey : is a must play. Its from one the main creators of Final Fantasy.
Enchanted Arms : It didnt get good reviews but I love the battle system in it.
JRPGS that are ok but you may like that are also on the 360 are
Infinite Undiscovery, Star Ocean, Eternal Sonata, and Blue Dragon
My favorite RPG for the Xbox 360 is the Mass Effect series. Mass Effect 1 and 2 are out now and the 3rd will be out early next year. Very epic RPG. Other good RPGs are:

Lost Odyssey : is a must play. Its from one the main creators of Final Fantasy.
Enchanted Arms : It didnt get good reviews but I love the battle system in it.

It's a very decent game..it's free to play but if you choose to pay the game is a lot easier and much more fun( you can trade with other players, sell items in the auction house, etc.) and on top of that those who actually pay to play the game get some respect there..you can tell when you use the chatbox..it's only 5 US dollars a month.. and u dont have to download anything except having java installed..its a browser based game
the game is basically to fight monsters..do quests and lvl up ur character..you can also choose your class such as warrior, archer, magician, and so on..which determines your character class bonuses later in the game...and you can have pets..use magic gems..
I would seriously recommend you to play this game if you are fine with paying for it because if you don't there is pretty much nothing to do except to fight monsters..and it gets boring really fast..(trust me I know)

Dragon Age: Origins would be an excellent start for you. Out of all platforms, the game is native to the PC and best played on it. It's one of my most absolute favorite games released to date. (DA2 however... ehhhhhh)
Oblivion may be old, but it's a pretty solid classic title. Definitely worth a look.
Other titles you may be interested in are the Baldur's Gate series, and the Neverwinter Nights series.

Agreed with the other poster! Lucent Heart (http://www.lucentheart.com) is really anime-influenced, and it's an award-winning game from Japan. They just brought the game over to the US, so you can play it in English (The US server doesn't block IP addresses, so you can play it from anywhere in the world). There's a lot of things to do like the customizable dungeons, tons of quests, and daily events %26amp; activities. The game also has a lot of Zodiac influence in it- you even get an awesome Zodiac armor at level 30 (and it's basically like going Super Saiyan, if you're familiar with DBZ ). Along with all of that, there's also the great community and social things to do on there, like the Cupid System (where you can pair up with someone and get extra buffs and bonuses) and the new Dance System (where you can create your own dance choreography). It's a lot of fun :) It's free-to-play, so definitely worth checking out :D

Good pace of levelling and instead of picking from a load of classes you unlock classes as you level up and can switch through them as long as you are not in battle... has some cute graphics along with not having a balanced item mall the last time I checked.

If you are looking for a more laid back sort of game where you can chat with people about anime this is probably the best shot... I played this game back when it was in Closed Beta... Last time I checked they had just added dance battles in... Oh and you kill wolves and stuff as usual.
- Mabinogi -
I liked this one due to its great combat but it hasn't got a very balanced item mall... good items can set you back a fair bit of money... This game features a unique aging system your character can start at age 10 and be a little kid flailing swords or you can start at age 17 OR any age in between!, it has interestingly unique features that truly make it an RPG like production skills like farming and you can even compose your own music... some people may have composed your favourite Anime OP and play it... so keep an ear out!

Agreed with the other poster! Lucent Heart (http://www.lucentheart.com) is really anime-influenced, and it's an award-winning game from Japan. They just brought the game over to the US, so you can play it in English (The US server doesn't block IP addresses, so you can play it from anywhere in the world). There's a lot of things to do like the customizable dungeons, tons of quests, and daily events %26amp; activities. The game also has a lot of Zodiac influence in it- you even get an awesome Zodiac armor at level 30 (and it's basically like going Super Saiyan, if you're familiar with DBZ ). Along with all of that, there's also the great community and social things to do on there, like the Cupid System (where you can pair up with someone and get extra buffs and bonuses) and the new Dance System (where you can create your own dance choreography). It's a lot of fun :) It's free-to-play, so definitely worth checking out :D

What program should I use to start making rpg games?
I am just getting started with writing code and making graphics I have done some code on java but now I want to know what program I should start out on to experiment with game creating. I eventually want to create an MMORPG from scratch.What program should I use to start making rpg games?
Umm well when I answer I like to tell you the brutal truth instead of trying to lie to you.
No matter how skilled you are in programming , making an mmorpg from scratch by yourself is nearly impossible you'll probably want to use a game engine.
Now games today are mainly coded in the c++ language. I would say approx. 90% of games are made with c++. But some games like runescape were made with Java.
But you may be asking why c++?
Well the answer is very simple. C++ is faster!
Nobody likes a laggy game so people go with c++ for optimum speed so that the game will run very smoothly.
So what makes c++ so fast?
Well c++ is a low level language and low level means that it's close to the process which means that it will in turn run faster. The downside is that it's not as user friendly meaning that the coding part requires more working like allocating the memory and discarding everything that is not needed for optimum speed.
Java on the other hand is a high level language. So it sacrifices speed for user friendliness and quicker development. Also Java has a garbage collection so it does all that other stuff for you but in my opinion c++ is better because you can shape every aspect of your game because it's soo close to the processor.
Now let's see the steps you'd have to take to make a mmorpg. Now you'll probably want to make it 3d (most people want to make it 3d so I'll assume you want to als)
So what I'd advise you to do is to learn C++. Now the basics shouldn't be to hard to learn since you know a bit of java and since you know a bit of java you should know about classes and what not which is what will make c++ much easier.
Now after you've learned that then I suggest you get into some 2d game development. The 2 main ones are:
Allegro - A library made specifically for 2d games development. It can do a bit of 2d but it's not recommend a lot with this library
SDL - Not specifically made for games , more made for software development but you can still make great games with it. It's slightly harder than allegro but you can do more with your program. You can also use this for 3d game development.
Now there's a new one coming up called sfml and supposedly it's easier than allegro. But I think allegro would be the best for you because it would teach you all the concepts and it's already a developed library.
Now let's dive into the 3d world. I don't care what anybody says 3d game programming is hard. To make a 3d mmorpg by yourself would take forever (YEARS!) and you would most likely give up and even if you didn't give up , by the time you would've finished the game some of the concepts would be outdated because in the computer world things change very quickly.
So the two main API's used for game programming are
OpenGL and DirectX. There are others but nobody really uses them.
DirectX has more features than Opengl (like sound) but DirectX applications can only be run on a windows platform computer so that means your games wouldn't work on a mac, linux , unix, ps3 , etc.
Opengl is cross platform and is easier to code in than directx. The downside is that it doesn't have much features so it requires the use of additional libraries to help you get the job done.
Now let's get into some 3d game engines.
Now the best one would have to be Unity3D. You don't require any programming experience to make a cool looking game in unity3D.
Even EA Games is porting to using Unity. You can still code but they use only 3 languages. C# , javascript and boo (which i don't really know anything about boo).
With the Unity game engine you can make a good 3d game but it will take time but it won't really be like making it from scratch because the engine will be doing a lot for you and lots of the stuff is pre-made.
You can also use panda3d or ogre3d or dargdk or something like that to create a 3d game using those API's those have built in funcitons that will help you create a 3d application fast and the best part is , they're all free!!

For me it took about a year/year and a half to adjust to how you play it. The game itself may seem pretty complicated but it is something you can get over by adjusting the difficulty (available in the start menu/options/game play) then slowly adjusting it higher as you get better. The fact that it has a great review makes it seem very easy to play, but this is not the case it is complicated, but is a absolutely brilliant game to play. If you thought Oblivion was difficult at the start morrowind tops Oblivion by triple and a half. Morrowind has no marker system making everywhere hard to find, there is no fast travel system which makes everything long winded. So the answer to your question is no it may be complicated but it when you get over it you can have quite a lot of fun a lot more than you can in morrowind.

Just try it. There isn't much to it. The open ended gameplay lets you slip into what you feel comfortable with. A confident player may go straight into destroying oblivion gates and conquering daedra however a less confident player may wish to simply do missions around the many towns in cyrodill, most of which are more about problem solving than having a kick *** character.
So go ahead and try Oblivion. It is an awesome game. I can guarantee that you will never regret giving it a go.

Experience is skill based and you can train any or all skills so everyone is different. Your not stuck in a certain class. Its pretty challenging and keeps my attention.

It's really hard to recommend a specific MMORPG, because everyone likes something different. A game I like you may hate. Check out http://mmohut.com for a gigantic list of these free mmorpg / mmo games. I use that site to find new games to play. Every few days I try a new game :) - It's a lot of fun because I try everything. They have like every single MMORPG categorized nicely with reviews, screenshots, videos and more. Heck they even list the game's system requirements!. Best part is all the games are free, which rocks.

trust me on this play any of the grand theft autos from 3 on. one, two, and the brittian 1s r dumb. and play any of the metal gear solids. 1, 2, 3, or 4. all of those games are sick. if ur more into fantasy, play any of the final fatasys after 6. 7-12 are good, 1-6, not good.
RPG: Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy XII, Dragon Quest VIII, Dark Cloud 2, Suikoden III. All for PS2, all solid RPGs.
Strategy: Civilization IV! Civilization IV! Civilization IV! :D Trust me, you won't regret it.

trust me on this play any of the grand theft autos from 3 on. one, two, and the brittian 1s r dumb. and play any of the metal gear solids. 1, 2, 3, or 4. all of those games are sick. if ur more into fantasy, play any of the final fatasys after 6. 7-12 are good, 1-6, not good.
RPG: Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy XII, Dragon Quest VIII, Dark Cloud 2, Suikoden III. All for PS2, all solid RPGs.
Strategy: Civilization IV! Civilization IV! Civilization IV! :D Trust me, you won't regret it.
Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion, Two Worlds, and Fable. Fable 2 is being released in October, it looks great! And Fallout 3, also in October. I also liked Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon.
