Which is better, Gamecube or Playstation 2? As far as buying rpg games for them?

Playstation 2 is without a doubt the best system for RPGS. The Gamecube has Tales of Symphonia, Skies of Arcadia and Fire Emblem but that is it.



The PS2 has hundreds of good RPGs, most of which you can get at moderately low price.



Some of my favorites include Shadow Hearts 1-3, Final Fantasy X, Ar Tonelico, and Suikoden.
The playstation 2 is far superior for rpg's.

The gamecube does have a few good rpg's.

The selling point of the ps2 (in terms of rpg gaming) is that there are hundreds of incredible japanese rpgs, most unreleased outside of japan. I f you can get hold of a European console(which you can do cheaply) You'll be able to play all of them.

well if you are into RPGs you definately need to go with a PS2. the ps2 catalog has way more to offer then the measly Gamecube. i own both systems.



put it this way i have over 50 games for ps2, i have 3 for gamecube (and one is a resident evil 1 remake)

undoubtably the ps2. the ps2 is the king of the consoles, particularly in the rpg catagory. there are hundreds of games. my personal favorites are the final fantasy games(which practically define role playing games), kingdom hearts, and the ratchet and clank series.

i can't suggest games really, because i don't what level of matureity you care to purchase. i stay away from mature rated games, but there are several hundred of those as well. if you are a fan of shooter games, then the ps2 is great too, because of call of duty and metal of honor. there is also the buku amount of sports games for the ps2, though those arn't my favorite.



the game cube is pathetic. it bombed almost as soon as it came out, and has very few games. however if one is a die hard fan of legend of zelda, or star fox, it's a good idea to get one.....(particularly if you liked the ocarina of time for nintendo 64, which was ported to the 'cube. i also highly recomend windwaker, though it is a slightly different title from the previous zelda games)
I will response with due respect to an obvious novice.The PS2 was the greatest console of all time,because it had everything!Least of which RPGS.Final Fantasy(X,X-2,XII),all great,a couple classics!Xenosaga(three of them),you want hardcore RPGing give those a run.Kingdom Hearts(three of them).Stellar action RPG.The Gamecube had Zelda:Wind Waker,more of an adventure game than an RPG(excellent though) and Final Fantasy:Crystal Chronicles,entirely forgettable.PS2 NO CONTEST!
playstation 2 by far. it has over a thousand RPGs for the system, albeit most of which are j-RPGs, but they have many different types so pick one and hope to like and if not then pick another one
The Gamecube is more family friendly, if you want good RPGs then go with the PS2, or if you can save up, a PS3, the PS3's library of games is mostly RPGs and FPS'
playstation 2 by far for me gamecube was good for me but when playstation came out got it right away hope i helped
DEFINATE PS2. And a suggestion for a good rpg on it, its called Orphan, or something like that :)
